Description:
The purpose of this contract is the provision of management services for the Municipal Pet Shelter of Torrevieja in terms of the collection, maintenance and custody of animals of any species that are wandering, lost, abandoned, helpless and seized. that are within the municipal area of Torrevieja, as well as
those animals of the feline species belonging to feline colonies that for reasons of necessity (health problems, relocation, conditioning of the colony of origin, etc.) must be temporarily housed in the shelter facilities or require veterinary care. This service will be provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as established by Law 2/2023, of March 13, on the Protection, Welfare and Ownership of pets and other animal welfare measures. This law establishes in Article 21.2 that "City councils may provide the collection and reception service by themselves or in association, under direct or indirect management.
In the case of indirect management of these services, the town councils must establish clauses on admission criteria, scoring and demand for execution linked to the objectives of this law."
