Description:
Among the purposes entrusted to the Women's Institute is the promotion of the conditions that allow the social equality of both sexes as well as the prevention and elimination of all kinds of discrimination of people due to sex, according to the second and third articlesof Law 16/1983, of October 24, on the creation of the Autonomous Institute of Women, providing attention and information about their rights to women and victims of discrimination due to sex and assistance so that, where appropriate, they process their claims for discrimination.This is complied with the twenty -seventh additional provision of Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22, for the effective equality of women and men, which incorporates the Directive in matters of equal treatment 2002/73/EC, of Directive Reform 76/207/CEE, relative to theApplication of the principle of equal treatment between men and women, (current directive 2006/54), which added a new article to Law 16/83, of October 24, on the creation of the Women's Institute, currently the third article, which entrusts to the Institute, among other functions, the provision ofAssistance to victims of discrimination to process their claims for discrimination.
