Pre-commercial Public Procurement of R&D services for the development of innovative solutions in the field of advanced SPAD Detectors for astronomical observation charged to CDTI's own funds and the EUROPEAN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND (ERDF)
The object of the projected contract is R&D services for the development of innovative solutions in the field of advanced SPAD Detectors for astronomical observation. To achieve this, innovative solutions are sought, non-existent in the market, that can solve detected public needs. The aim of this initiative is to advance SPAD technology with the aim of opening new horizons in astronomy, in such a way that can be observed and studied, with an unprecedented temporal resolution - in the range of picoseconds - ultrafast events and transient phenomena, as well as allowing the implementation of the intensity interferometry technique using several optical telescopes separated from each other. up to 1 km, to achieve spatial resolutions in the microarcsecond range. This requires a solution characterized by: a) A high efficiency of photon detection in a wide spectral range b) An unprecedented total temporal resolution c) Enabling interferometry intensity in the visible with several telescopes
